Viet Anh Ho, M.A., M.S., AMFT, APCC is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT 156041) and a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC 19873), under the supervision of Dr. Janice Nishiyama (PSY 16545). He earned his B.A. in Philosophy and a M.A. in Comparative Studies from The Ohio State University, and an M.S. in Counseling with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy.

In his work as a therapist, Viet follows the dictum “know thyself,” a guiding principle that shapes his clinical practice. His process-oriented approach integrates classical and relational psychoanalytic theories with the experiential lens of Buddhist phenomenology, drawing on contemplative traditions and mindfulness-based practices. At the heart of his work is fostering the capacity to “read” oneself with honesty, curiosity, and compassion. Viet views therapy as a space where internal patterns can be observed, understood, and gradually transformed through insight and relational presence. As clients come to know their own minds more deeply, they are no longer strangers to themselves and can engage their inner world with greater clarity, agency, and freedom.

Viet has worked with adults, adolescents, and families from diverse racial, religious, cultural, and relational backgrounds. His clinical experience includes supporting individuals coping with anxiety, mood disorders, and complex PTSD stemming from developmental, interpersonal, and intergenerational trauma, as well as destructive or compulsive coping patterns. He has particular expertise working with men and male-identified clients, focusing on issues such as masculinity, male socialization, emotional expression, and overcoming mental health stigma. Viet is also highly attuned to matters of gender, sexuality, racial identity, and alternative lifestyles including ethical non-monogamy, polyamory, and kink/BDSM. Additionally, he supports clients recovering from harmful religious experiences, navigating academic and professional stress, managing imposter syndrome, and integrating spiritual and philosophical exploration into their healing journey.

Viet brings a warm, thoughtful, and deeply reflective presence to his work. He offers therapy in both English and Vietnamese.
